Antilla Coral Gables

October 30, 2013

How¬†do you incorporate contemporary interior design in a Mediterranean building in Coral Gables? Easy; using clean lines and contemporary materials and furniture that won’t go out of style. When we were approached to design Antilla Coral Gables, a new boutique apartment building in Coral Gables, we were very enthusiastic because it was requested we design it in a contemporary style.

In the Antilla building we will be using very neutral colours with splashes of sparkle to add interest. We will be using a combination of grey and off-white flooring with beautiful furniture pieces and lighting as focal points. We want the lobby to feel inviting and like it still fits in with the look of Coral Gables. We didn’t want it to feel like you are walking into a totally different space than what you see on the exterior of the building.

The elevator lobby has a large 10-foot ceiling fixture as a focal point and there are two sitting areas off to the sides with simple moldings and beautiful lacquer chairs. The pool lobby is a more casual space on the fifth floor of the building. We designed this space to be bright and airy with bright colors in cool tones. There are areas to cook and dine in the covered terrace next to the pool and an open-air lounge area opposite the fitness center.
